Hutton Mount Estate residents should be aware that there are restrictions on the types of boulders, bollards or posts that Hutton Mount Limited consider acceptable to be placed on Hutton Mount Limited verges.
It is important to recognise that the verges are owned by Hutton Mount Limited and health and safety considerations need to be taken into account when placing boulders, bollards or posts on the verges, as they can be a hazard to both pedestrians and vehicles and Hutton Mount Limited cannot take any responsibility for any placed on the verges and the responsibility remains with the owner of the property.
Boulders may be acceptable if they have a smooth surface, without sharp edges or protrusions. This is to ensure that if anyone was to fall on one then they would not be unduly injured. These are health and safety requirements and must be adhered to.
Bollards or posts should be no higher than 300mm and spaced at least 3m apart.
If boulders, bollards or posts are erected on the verges that do not comply with these guidelines, then the Directors of Hutton Mount Limited will request that these are removed.
It is requested that residents adhere to the three options set out below, which will provide a consistent design approach and meet with appropriate safety standards.
